The motorcycle or bike industry in India is categorized into three main segments. The top most segment including the Adreno FX and Energy FX constitutes the seven percent of the total market. Then there is the deluxe segment which constitutes almost 53 percent of the total motorcycle market including the LML and TVS. This is the most common and widely accepted commuter segment. Finally, the third category is the basic entry level segment in which motorcycle constitute forty percent of the market.

With the onset in the Indian market, the company was only manufacturing two wheelers and later it also made a benchmark in the three wheeler industry. This popular company became a public limited company in 1960.
