Bikes India

The first Motorcycle was first manufactured way back in the 1950s; after which the motorcycle industry has seen a considerable amount of demand in the country. After the partition in the year 1954 the Indian government first ordered around 800 motorcycles for the Indian army to be posted at the borders. The Bullet which was originally launched in England with a 350cc is said to first bike of those days which after a year or so was upgraded to 500cc. After which bikes have seen many minor and cosmetic changes over the years. Thus the Enfield bullet was among the first two wheelers to hit the Indian roads and since then it has been the passion for most motorcycle lovers.

Rajdoot, another sturdy bike of those days was very popular and was in close competition with the Enfield Bullet as it was very easy to handle on the rough Indian roads. The company had chosen the sturdy man Dharmendra to promote the bike and sold more than 1 million bikes in history of Indian two wheeler industries.

After the huge hit in motorcycles, it was a scooter for Bajaj Auto that was widely popular in the Indian market.  The scooter was named as Bajaj Chetak dedicated to the brave horse of the legendary Rana Pratap Singh which till today is one of the triumphant brands from the Bajaj Auto.

LML Select launched by LML Motors saw a reasonable amount of success because of its advanced technology and superior performance.

Apart from heavy motorcycles and scooter lighter bikes from TVS Suzuki named Ind Suzukia was another choice among the Indian two wheelers. However due to high import rates the bike could penetrate into the Indian market.

Today with lower import duties and new age techniques we see newer models of two-wheelers from companies across the world flooding the Indian markets. However, bikes like Bullet , Rajdoot, Luna and Chetak, and will always be in the hearts of the Indian bike lovers.
